One-day conference - Morning and Afternoon session
WORKBOAT POWER & PROPULSION SEMINAR
Supported by Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA)
Economic and environmental concerns demand greater efficiency from all types of workboat. Such improvements will come from powering and propulsion. This technical seminar, supported by the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, will discuss the following aspects of powering and propulsion over two sessions, one focusing on new design concepts and the other addressing the ‘green’ issues:
- Powering – all engine types and power generation systems
- Power transmissions systems – direct and indirect
- Design and implementation of propellers, impellers and thrusters
- Steering gear
- Dynamic positioning and trim and stability systems whilst underway
